Once again, we’ve raised the bar by resetting our own record and proudly introducing South Africa’s first G87 M2 into the 9-second quarter-mile bracket. This milestone marks a defining moment not only for us, but for the local performance community as a whole.
From 10.02 to 9.6 Seconds – Progress Redefined
Just a few months ago, our G87 M2, equipped with our proven S800R package, achieved an impressive 10.02-second pass over the ¼ mile. That run established our car as the fastest G87 M2 in South Africa at the time.
But at NV Performance, standing still isn’t an option.
We returned to the strip determined to push further and we delivered. Clocking a remarkable 9.6 seconds over the quarter mile, we officially became the first to take the G87 M2 into the 9-second range in South Africa, once again securing our position at the top.
Performance Without Compromise
What makes this achievement even more significant is the platform itself.
Our G87 M2 remains:
* On factory stock turbos
* Running a stock engine
* Equipped with a stock gearbox
* Retaining a full interior
This isn’t a stripped-out race car, it’s a true street machine, engineered to deliver elite performance without sacrificing everyday usability.
Driven, Proven, Trusted
The pilot Neval Kanjee has firmly cemented his name in the record books, holding the title for the fastest BMW G80 in South Africa. Behind the wheel of his Nv Performance Racing Team machine, he reset the national benchmark with an incredible 8.63-second with exiting speed of 264 km/h quarter mile pass, making it one of the quickest G80 runs on the continent.
The record-breaking run was achieved at a competitive drag racing event, where the car showcased extreme performance, crossing the line at blistering speed and outperforming the field. This wasn’t just a personal best — it stood as the fastest G80 of the day and a national record, highlighting both driver skill and cutting-edge tuning.
With earlier runs in the 8.8-second range at speeds around 256 km/h, the progression to an 8.63 proves just how aggressively the platform has evolved under his team.
To further prove the reliability of our S800R package, we didn’t just trailer the car to the track. We drove it from Johannesburg to KZN, put down a 9.6-second pass, and drove it back. Proving that our passion for race development can hold its own from street to track.
Lastly we were able to take first place in the 6BR class at Dezzi raceway this weekend.
