Back Your Tuner: A Day at the Track with the NV Performance Family

If there is one thing we enjoy as much as building fast cars, it is spending time with our family of automotive enthusiasts and petrolheads.

Events provide an opportunity to step away from the pressures of everyday life, enjoy the cars we have worked so hard to build and connect with people who share the same passion.

When we heard about the Back Your Tuner event hosted by the 011 team, we knew we had to be there. We invited several of our clients to join us for a day of racing, community and unforgettable experiences at the track.

At NV Performance, we believe that modifying a vehicle should be about more than simply determining whose car is faster. It should be a complete experience—one that allows every client to understand, feel and enjoy the full potential of their vehicle in a safe and controlled environment.

Arriving at the Event

We always aim to arrive at racing events as early as possible so that we can prepare our pit area before our clients arrive.

When we reached the venue, the queue at the entrance stretched for more than a kilometre. Fortunately, the event was well organised and the line continued moving steadily.

Once inside, our team immediately began setting up. We assisted our clients with changing wheels, filling fuel and carrying out the final checks required to prepare each vehicle for racing.

It is worth remembering that the cars we brought were genuine street cars. They were driven to the track, raced throughout the event and driven home afterwards.

Then it was time to unleash them.

Kallin’s Record-Breaking F80 M3

First onto the track was our business partner, Kallin from Strada Performance, in his BMW F80 M3.

Our teams had spent several months refining the vehicle, fine-tuning its setup and preparing it to achieve one very specific goal: becoming South Africa’s first nine-second S55-powered M3.

Kallin delivered an exceptional 9.9-second quarter-mile pass at 227 km/h, officially breaking through the nine-second barrier.

It was an incredibly proud moment for everyone involved. We had achieved something that had not previously been done with an S55-powered M3 in South Africa.

When we say that we are home to South Africa’s fastest S55, we mean every word.

Shival’s Consistent M340i

Next was Shival Adojia in his BMW M340i.

What makes this vehicle particularly impressive is that it remains a genuine daily driver. There is no stripped interior or extensive weight reduction—in fact, it still carries a complete sound system in the boot.

Despite its everyday usability, the car consistently delivers 10-second quarter-mile passes throughout the day.

It is one of the most reliable and consistent vehicles in our camp—and it is more than capable of bruising a few egos at the starting line.

A New Personal Best for Tasheel

Tasheel Singh arrived focused, composed and ready to perform.

We have spoken about Tasheel in previous posts because of his exceptional ability at the starting line. He remains calm under pressure and rarely misses a beat.

At this event, Tasheel recorded a new personal best of 11.1 seconds in his BMW M3, equipped with only an upgraded exhaust system and performance software.

There is still considerable potential left in this vehicle, and we look forward to watching him continue progressing and achieving his goals.

Mighty’s NV800 Toyota Supra

The A90 Toyota Supra platform will always be close to our hearts.

NV Performance has developed a range of packages for these vehicles, and we have previously achieved some of South Africa’s quickest B58-powered results.

For this event, our client Mighty brought out his NV800 Supra for its first visit to a racetrack.

On its very first outing, Mighty recorded an impressive 10.2-second quarter-mile pass—without using nitrous.

Although we experienced a few small challenges during the day, the vehicle showed enormous potential. We were confident that a nine-second pass was well within reach as development continued.

Ashay’s M140i Joins the NV Camp

Our client Ashay also joined us with his BMW M140i.

The vehicle had previously been tuned elsewhere before moving across to NV Performance. Our team custom-tuned the car using the bootmod3 platform and prepared it for its first event with us.

Ashay achieved a new personal best of 12.2 seconds in full street trim, improving on his previous quickest time.

Our next target for the M140i was an 11.5-second pass, and we were confident that the vehicle would continue getting faster as we refined its setup.

More Than Just Racing

Back Your Tuner was an outstanding day for the NV Performance team and our clients.

We achieved personal bests, broke performance barriers and demonstrated what our vehicles were capable of—but, more importantly, we gave our clients an experience they would remember.

The day was filled with racing, teamwork and genuine enjoyment, without unnecessary pressure. That is what the NV Performance community is all about.
