The main challenge in designing a performance intercooler for the RS6 / RS7 is the limited available space behind the front bumper and wheel arches. This limits the size of the intercooler core, tanks, and ambient airflow. We have made sure to use every available millimeter of space.

The intercooler cores, designed to do88’s specifications and manufactured by Garrett Motorsport, use advanced aerospace technology. The cores are constructed by densely packed, thin cooling fins that offer very efficient heat transfer, thereby ensuring optimal performance.

Our uniquely designed, free-form cast end tanks evenly distribute airflow across the core. Extensive CFD analysis, 3D-printing prototypes, and flow bench testing have resulted in an optimized design for maximum airflow. The hose connections are 70mm (2 ¾”), a significant 37% increase compared to the OE 60mm (2 3/8″). Enlarging the hose connections removes critical airflow restrictions, essential for improved turbo efficiency and achieving higher power outputs. To our knowledge, do88 is the only manufacturer offering such large hose connections.

Included are premium-quality ambient air guides crafted from vacuum-infused prepreg carbon fiber (twill 2×2 mm). These guides attach securely to the intercoolers with four screws, ensuring the 29% larger core surface receives a constant flow of cool, fresh air.

The kit also comes with silicone hoses designed specifically to match the larger connections and seamlessly connect to the OE charge pipes. Welding of the intercoolers are performed in-house at do88’s facility in Sweden, guaranteeing top quality.

Since the OE intercoolers often reach their limit in performance, especially in tuned vehicles, upgrading becomes essential. Regardless of whether your vehicle is at standard boost levels or highly tuned, our intercooler kit dramatically improves performance over the OE intercooler.
